Volunteers

Hazelwood Harvest is requesting volunteers interested in providing a helping hand nurturing and caring for its urban community garden sites this spring and summer in the Hazelwood neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
Started last year with one site, the all-volunteer community garden engages children and teenagers from the neighborhood to grow nutritious produce for the community. Excess produce will be donated to food bank, and sold thru youth run market stand.
Hazelwood Harvest hopes to expand the community gardens to several additional plots this year. The garden 2009 season begins March 30.
